Monitor Arm Desk-Thickness Compatibility Guide
Before buying a monitor arm, check the exact minimum/maximum clamp opening and whether the desktop edge is solid enough to carry the load.

- Measure the actual edge thickness.
- Watch for beveled or reinforced edges.
- Do not clamp over cable trays or aprons.
Thickness is only one dimension
A clamp also needs a flat upper and lower contact area. Desks with aprons, beveled edges or rear cable channels can block the lower clamp even when thickness is within range.
Grommet mounts need their own checks
Verify hole diameter, edge distance and underside clearance. Do not drill a desktop unless the manufacturer permits it and you understand the core material.
